As a member of Magic Valley Electric COOP, you know that you can rely on us to provide reliable power on a consistent basis. This is important for all, but extremely important for members who use life-sustaining medical equipment. If this applies to you or someone who resides in your home, you may wish to fill out a Medical Necessity Program application.
Magic Valley Electric COOP keeps an up-to-date database of service locations where residents require life-sustaining medical equipment. This is a critical service for members because we will let you know when there will be a planned outage or service interruption so that you can properly prepare.
No, we cannot guarantee priority electric service restoration for members who are part of the Medical Necessity Program. Though you will receive prior notification, you will also not be exempt from planned outages. Finally, the Medical Necessity Program will not prevent termination of service due to nonpayment.
To be eligible for this program, you or someone who lives in your house must be diagnosed by a qualified physician with
one of the following types of medical conditions:

We use the same criteria that applies to Critical Care Conditions, but this category does not require renewal every two years.
