Welcoming Our New Board Member, Mr. Maurice J. Rodriguez

Magic Valley Electric Cooperative is proud to welcome Mr. Rodriguez as the new-est member of our Board of Directors. With a strong background in leadership andcommunity involvement, Mr. Rodriguez brings valuable insight and dedication tothe Cooperative’s mission of providing safe, reliable, and affordable electricity toour members.

Born in Bogotá, Colombia, and now a U.S. citizen, Mr. Rodriguez has over 41years of Human Resources experience. Raised across the U.S. and abroad, hecompleted high school in Italy and earned a Business Administration degree fromLouisiana Tech University. He spent 27 years in Tucson with Newmont Miningand Hughes Aircraft (later GM), before moving to McAllen in 2000 as HR Directorfor six GM plants in Reynosa, overseeing 10,000 employees. In 2008, he joinedCorning Cable Systems, expanding its workforce from 1,500 to 10,000 and leadingmajor infrastructure projects at the US/Mexico bordwer.
