Welcoming Our New Board Member, Mr. Maurice J. Rodriguez

Magic Valley Electric Cooperative is proud to welcome Mr. Rodriguez as the newest member of our Board of Directors. With a strong background in leadership and community involvement, Mr. Rodriguez brings valuable insight and dedication to the Cooperative’s mission of providing safe, reliable, and affordable electricity to our members.

Born in Bogotá, Colombia, and now a U.S. citizen, Mr. Rodriguez has over 41years of Human Resources experience. Raised across the U.S. and abroad, he completed high school in Italy and earned a Business Administration degree from Louisiana Tech University. He spent 27 years in Tucson with Newmont Mining and Hughes Aircraft (later GM), before moving to McAllen in 2000 as HR Director for six GM plants in Reynosa, overseeing 10,000 employees. In 2008, he joined Corning Cable Systems, expanding its workforce from 1,500 to 10,000 and leading major infrastructure projects at the US/Mexico border.

We look forward to the experience and perspective Mr. Rodriguez will contribute as we continue working together to power the Rio Grande Valley. Please join us in welcoming Mr. Rodriguez to the MVEC family and supporting him in his new role.
