Children’s Bereavement Center Rio Grande Valley offers grief counseling services for grieving children, youth, their families and the community. The center began offering direct services, including peer support groups and individual counseling, in early 2017. Magic Valley Returns $5.5 Million in Capital Credits to Members
As a member-owned cooperative, MVEC operates as a not-for-profit utility. This year your board of directors has approved to retire capital credits to those consumer-members who received electric service in 1998 and a portion of capital credits in 2018.

Magic Valley employees presented checks in the amount of $3,500 to CASA of Hidalgo and $3,500 to CASA of Cameron and Willacy Counties.
This funding will help the Hidalgo, Cameron and Willacy county-based programs continue training dedicated volunteers, increase the number of volunteers trained each year, and ensure that 100 percent of children placed into foster care in the Rio Grande Valley have a voice.

Magic Valley employees presented a check in the amount of $7,000 on Friday, June 28 to the RGV Down Syndrome Association.
MVEC employees raised $3,250 through various fundraising activities at the Cooperative and received a matching grant for $3,750 from CoBank through the Sharing Success Program that CoBank offers each year to their cooperative members.

Three South American Electric Cooperatives and a Texas Electric Cooperative lead the way in actions that fulfill the sixth cooperative principle.
The sixth cooperative principle – Cooperation Among Cooperatives – reads: "Cooperatives serve their members most effectively and strengthen the cooperative movement by working together through local, national, regional, and international structures."

With this donation, the organization supports excellence in schools for all local students, particularly those in our most under resourced communities.
